Quinta do Estreito

Quinta do Estreito Vintage House

Countryside charm abounds Quinta do Estreito, a beautifully and lovingly restored manor home set amongst entangling vineyards in the southern part of the island, and once served as the primary wine producing estate on the island.

Exquisite attention to detail is apparent throughout, complemented tremendously by the breathtaking views of the Madeiran landscape and shores.

Each of the 48 rooms is tastefully furnished and elegantly decorated with local marble and wood, thoughtful amenities including heated towel rail, bathrobes and slippers, and private balconies for even more gracious vistas of the vineyards and the ocean. Its all about location here and Quinta do Estreitos is perfect, set in a traditional Madeiran village perfect for leisurely strolls down quiet streets popping in and out of charming shops, and just a short complimentary shuttle ride away to downtown Funchal for those who crave a slightly more urban vibe.
The property is surrounded by beautiful French gardens and olive groves, complete with tropical flowers and organic agriculture, boasting a gorgeous swimming pool and esplanade.

Bacchus, the signature eatery is a gourmet experience set in two distinct atmospheres, delivering creative cuisine created by fresh local products while Adega da Quinta serves more rustic, traditional Madeiran country fare set adjacent to the propertys original wine cellar, still filled with barrels of local wine and brandy. Guests here are entitled to complimentary access to the Chandra SPA set at Quinta das Vistas.

About Madeira

Known as the pearl of the Atlantic, the island of Madeira rises from the Atlantic Ocean and is as proudly Portuguese as it is magically majestic. Its famed year-round balmy climate has kept it a consistent favorite for decades, and easy short flight hops from both London and Lisbon make it quite accessible even for those hailing from long distances away.

Explorers who discovered this island some 600 years ago were overwhelmed by its lush vegetation and abundance of trees, and hence decided to name it the Portuguese word for wood and the centuries have been kind to the island ever since. Blessed with near-perfect weather, glimmering beaches, crystalline waters and a wealth of nature and adventure prospects, its perhaps one of the worlds last remaining perfect places.

Funchal, Madeiras capital, is a delightfully cosmopolitan city, bustling at a warm and fun pace with lively, friendly people and no shortage of neither restaurants, nor markets, nor stunning churches and charming homes. As you venture out on the beautifully maintained roads, Madeira becomes your nature playground, complete with everything from bird sanctuaries to botanical gardens, rock formations for hiking and climbing, to all manner of watersport to be enjoyed on its glistening shores.
